Hello, world! My name is Ann Nakamura and I am a video editor with over 5+ years of social media, brand, and content marketing experience. My dream has always been to make a creative impact, and to also help nurture more women in the video space.
I was previously a video editor at Biossance, where our products focus on sustainability, impact, and care for the environment. Being a part of the team has helped me learn post-production skills like color-correcting in DaVinci Resolve, captioning in Premiere, creating GFX in After Effects, you name it!
Before video production, I was primarily working in marketing for five years, and my talents were used for content, analytics, and social media. I've worked at so many different companies big and small, and have learned so much with each experience. My time at ASUS, BMC Software, and Adobe have taught me so much about the tech industry in B2B, B2C, and Talent/HR. Even as an intern at CreaTV San Jose and CKR Interactive, those experiences taught me what it was like to work in agency environments, and how to do more with less.
Overall, I have honed my skills in content creation, videography, social media management, talent marketing, consumer marketing, analytics and reporting, and so much more. I firmly believe in feedback: everyone has the capacity to learn, even if they've been doing the same thing repeatedly for years. This mindset has allowed me to continuously learn, polish, and excel all of my skills and bring fresh perspectives to projects.

Some notable things I've done at my workplaces:
1.) Biossance (Video Editor, Paid and Social) - Helped to spearhead a Biossance EDU series, producing over 11 short-form videos to be used across Sephora and our own internal teams for sales training and product overviews. Worked with our social media teams to cut, retime, resize and create multiple assets for Instagram and Facebook and have had the priveledge to work on a 2022 Recap of Biossance's partnership with Reese Witherspoon!
2.) Adobe (Talent Marketing Manager) - Created an organic social video series, Adobe Life: Answered that garnered over 100k+ video views on LinkedIn, increased Twitter and Instagram engagement by 25% year over year, and helped establish Adobe as an employer of choice through Glassdoor strategies and outreach raising their overall rating from a 4.1 to a 4.4 YoY. Produced/edited 35 unique videos in 2020 for external and internal purposes.
3.) ASUS (Social Media Specialist) - Managed over 7 different social channels for the United States, delivered and built content that helped establish a community of over 1 million computer hardware enthusiasts, gamers and prosumers.

In my spare time, I love playing video games such as Dance Dance Revolution, Pokemon, Bayonetta and Monster Hunter, spending time with my fiancée, and appreciating (and playing) retro and arcade games. I am a bourbon lover at heart, and I live and breathe all things food.
I LOVE videography and field recording, and adore the post-production process of any project, whether it's color-correcting, audio-adjustments, rotoscoping: you name it!
I firmly believe that every good story begins with you.
