Hey there, and welcome to my portfolio!
As you probably assumed, my name is Ann Nakamura, and I'm a California-born video production gal who was born and raised in San Jose, with more than a decade in marketing, content creation, and visual storytelling. I'm a graduate of San Jose State University with a B.A. in Marketing... which, admittedly, I was hesitant to pursue at first. You see, my real passion is telling stories through video (and maybe through some dumb memes).
After spending six years navigating the worlds of social media, content, and talent marketing at ASUS, BMC Software, and Adobe, I finally landed where I wanted to be: behind a camera and in an editing timeline, crafting stories people won't forget. Whether it's an ad, a person's life story, a brand achievement, or simply something that makes someone smile, my marketing experience has helped me professionally guide narratives at Biossance and Marini SkinSolutions (where I currently work!), as well as through personal projects whenever inspiration strikes.
In my spare time, I play Dance Dance Revolution almost every other day (while, of course, squeezing in other video games when the mood hits). I also love spending time with my husband and yelling at our five very silly chickens while enjoying a good bourbon. More often than not, though, you'll find me quietly drawing on my iPad from the couch with some random movie or sitcom playing in the background. If one of my favorite streamers is live, there's a good chance everything else gets put on hold.
